Did You Have More Fun Playing Vanilla On Classic Wow Or Private Servers

Did you have more fun playing vanilla on classic wow or private servers?

Because of how toxic and shitshow classic wow has become, I stopped playing it today. You can't even play pvp in AV, as you'll be kicked by high ranking Autists mass reporting. You can't do a dungeon the normal way without doing the spell cleave bullshit. I thought the classic community was worse than the private one. I know this is a rant, however I am so disappointed in classic now. I remember the good old private servers days of vanilla. It was a better vanilla game than classic wow, especially with the progression. Vanilla wow is now a joke due to classic wow.

Classic experience was destroyed since the beginning. -Releasing phase 2 with no bgs, esentially disfiguring the experience for smaller factions (see realms where alliance dissappears after nonstop Ganksquads). -Bots all over the world not being banned for several weeks.

What is the cleave-meta?

Raid exp bugged putting hard-core people ahead of the curve

The raid method of leveling in Dungeons was slower than a normal 5 member party.

I don't think the cleave Meta is as bad for me as people make it out to be. Although I was passed on by some groups, I don't recall having any major difficulties finding normal dungeon group members.

The raid exp bug was big but ultimately I dont care how other people level. The extra week or two they spent on MC is irrelevant in the scheme. Some players may have felt burned out by it, but ultimately they can play as they please.

I think the wPvP phase that lasted as long as it did began a collapse due to all the faction imbalance issues and transfers. The holiday season, which has always been hard on guilds, further complicates matters.

It feels like a perfect storm came together at the beginning of 2019, that really hit classic wow. I log in once every week to do my molten Core. We'll soon see if this playstyle deserves a subscription. I've done this 2 or 3 times now on private servers, and I think maybe others feel similarly apathetic towards continuing classic.

I had a better experience on smaller servers. General chat is dead. People avoid elite quests, and they opt to quest alone when possible. If they do join a group, they leave immediately after they complete their quest. Ironforge is a small community, so it's not much for the community experience. Most people rolled with their current clique and didn't go out of the way to meet new people. Might just be the realm I'm playing on though. Grn online

Vanilla, Kronos. Had the best community, a good mix of old and new. It is the best server. It has improved over time. Has it had bugs, issues, etc? Hell yes, have they worked hard to fix it? Hell yes, i also like a few of the custom features with Que anywhere for bgs pre level 51 and that terrain like trees etc block spellcasting (need vision of target before fire). The difference between vanilla and classic pservers is huge Blizz made some poor decisions with classic pservers.

Oh hi!

More fun on private servers and still having more fun on private servers.

Private Servers do Vanilla better... WAY better.

I was very excited for Classic, but it just did not feel like Vanilla AT ALL so I quit and came back to private servers.

I would love to see a decent Fresh Vanilla Server open soon.

I had more fun playing Vanilla WOTLK and Vanilla TBC than on retail. Classic is still not available for me, so I'm waiting for Blizz to make a decision.

But, I understand the feeling. I hate when the retail guys just want to min max and do the mythic + in 10 minutes bcs no time man...

Friends have told me that it is almost the same. Grn online It is a common mistake to think you can complete dungeon within 10 minutes.

The old days of WoW were new and the dungs took some time and effort to complete.

This game is too old, and it has been around for too long. Everyone knows the shortest route to everything. And people are like this from nature. They want to have it all now and not later. This is why bcs games today are encouraging this type of play to min max and do some things in a short time.

I miss the old days of exploration and dungeons that took 1-2 hours to complete.

fun in 2020 omegalul

Pservers are always more enjoyable, I think. Low pop is often a complaint. However, it's probably the best and most authentic way to have fun. It's not like there is enough to do and it doesn’t feel like you matter.

If you ask this question on a subreddit for private servers, one might wonder what the majority (xd) of answers will look like.

Kronos was the most enjoyable game I have played since vanilla. Based on what I've seen, I have lost interest in classic.

Played on Kronos and was some of the most fun I ever had on WoW.

Quit classic after the first month because of how shit it was (bugs, layering, community...)

Same here. All about private wow servers I quit as soon i felt it wasn't up-to-standard. While having large population realms was a great thing, that was the only positive aspect I could see. I'm now playing Turtle WoW, and am having a blast leveling slowly.
