It's been about two months since we first heard about Minecraft Earth, the augmented real-world version of the game that makes the real world playscape full of your blocky creations. The company promised that a beta version of the game would arrive in the summer of this year. Now it's out, along with a brand new trailer, the company has announced that it will be available on iOS within the next two weeks, with Android following "soon following that."

The iOS-first launch isn't surprising after we got our first glimpse of live gameplay during WWDC last month. The trailer provides more details about the game. However, it's worth checking out the Apple demo to check the game's features and if you have any queries.

To be one of the first players with access, you'll need to sign up for the game right here (you'll require a smartphone running at minimum iOS 10 or Android 7 to play, as per the FAQ). Access to the game is limited while they work out load on the game's servers, however you'll need to be active in the game. If you don't play for seven days then someone else will take your slot. To register, you will need an Microsoft or Xbox Live account. Once you've signed up you have nothing to do other than to wait and build.
