New WoW player looking for a private server.

Hello guys! I always wanted to play WoW but didn't have the financial ability to do. Then I found that you can play for free on private servers. I would like some recommendations as to which server I should select. I am new to the world so I cannot choose an expansion.

I suggest you try out TurtleWoW. It's exactly how it was when it was released in 2004, with some great custom content being added (and still being developed). This is not Warmane's fault.

ChromieCraft has great community and server features. However, it is not compatible with the WotLK client. This makes it very easy to play. It's very user-friendly. However, I don’t like playing WoW with no challenge. Vanilla, the base game of WoW, is my favorite.

Both have a decently large population. TurtleWoW is a bit better than CC, and both have been steadily increasing over the past few months. You will definitely find enough people to play games with.

Chromie is cool. It has made the game so much more enjoyable.

Chromie is really good for new players, no rush to end game and friendly community.

It is blizzlike because it is the way it was intended to be played. Version is 3.3.5.

It is currently at lvl 49 max and will release lvl59 cap next month.

If you love leveling and progression, chromiecraft might be a good option. The current level cap on chromiecraft at 49 is (will increase to 59 by Oct 2nd). The server is well-maintained and has a friendly community.

Big thanks dude. What expansion is this server running? What is the population of this server's expansion?

Chromie is a fun and relaxed game. It's more relaxing than most Vanillas and I don’t get carpal Tunnel clicking on each item, rather than having autoloot for the newer client.

I played a lot of wow back in the day and now im playing on warmane lordaeron server. I know what u are looking for. You should play tauriwow (evermoon) Although I don't play there, i did check it out to make sure that the quests worked. The population is decent and the servers work like a charm. I would choose tauri wow over any other game. Turtlewow is good but it has custom content and low population. I recommend Chromie, too. But u should play more modern patches (like cataclysm or mists of pandaria) because alot of quests have been changed with that expansions (thousands of new quests so to say). Just give tauriwow a try u wont regret it. Ilder expansions are difficult to use and require many addons. The art of kerembeyit

If you want to go real old school, I recommend Turtle Wow. 1x xp, PvE realm with some customized content

Everyone is sugegsting Chromiecraft. Is it better than Warmane? What are the similarities and differences between these servers?

at ChromieCraft, we:

- are fully open-source have a completely different philosophy (see https://www.reddit.com/r/ChromieCraft/comments/o755do/how_private_servers_work_technically_and_why_imho/ )

- We do not sell p2w (our shop does not sell mounts, pets, bags, etc... anything that will make your character stronger).

- We are a non profit organisation. All profits are reinvested into the project.

- have a unique ( yet blizzlike-flavoured) progression ( https://www.chromiecraft.com/progression/ )

- never fake our numbers and are always transparent about how many active accounts/ip there are ( https://chromiecraft.com/apps/server-status/ )

- A friendly community

Pick the expansion first.

jesus christ the chromie and turtle shills this is some bannable stuff, obvious discord raids

wotlk = warmane, big pop, 4 realm choices to pick what you like cata = apollo, the one and only mop = tauri, the one and only

I would not recommend anything that isn't wotlk-ready or past mop to new players

I'm enjoying casually leveling up on Darrowshire. It's an x1 vanilla server with some QoL additions like a cap for respeccing. It hasn't progressed far and has about 1500-2000 players online during European evenings at all level ranges.

Although some people may have a negative opinion of this server, most complaints are gossip and hearsay. So take it with a grain.

If you want a high-pop server, Warmane might be a good option. Although it's controversial due to the toxic playerbase, queue, cash shop and made up queue, it's still a decent server.

It is a pvp-server, so you will die a lot even if you're not in neutral territory

I could direct to a private server for you, but first I must know the expansion or vanilla (original WoW) you want to play.

You can choose from vanilla, The Burning Crusade or Wotlk as well as Cata or Mist of Panaria.

I'd be happy to give you more information if that is what WoW version you need.

I don't know the differences between them but I searched it a bit and I really like Wotlk as many people say it is the best expansion.

I've been playing Project Ascension for a while... Best I've seen so far. Although I haven't done raids. They have raids and dungeons that are heroic, normal, and mythic. And custom classless builds.

Mists Of Pandaria is my favorite xpac. I miss the OG monk and the feel of running gold timed runs.
