Student Is In Jail After Posing As A Bombmaking Manual As Minecraft Guide

A teenager from South East London has been imprisoned for sharing a bomb-making manual online. He disguised it as a guide to the game of video games that is so popular Minecraft.



Connor Burke, 19, a London student at the university, posted the manual, which included instructions on how to make IEDs, or improvised explosive devices (IEDs), on Telegram to a group containing around 12,000 users.



Police identified Burke through his social media accounts and arrested the man at his Bexleyheath family home. They also discovered documents related to terrorists on Burke's digital devices. This was all recorded by Woolwich Crown Court.



The court was also informed that a search of his bedroom turned up a copy Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf and The Anarchist Cookbook. Rabbitfest These books gave advice on building explosives.



He pleaded guilty in connection with the dissemination of the publication of a terrorist and four charges of possession of an item that is likely to be useful to someone planning or committing an act of terrorism in a hearing in July 2021.



He was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court to 42 months' imprisonment and another 12 months on licence.
